Chat commands in Nightbot, StreamElements and Fossabot

Every command is a link that replies with a line of text. Here’s how to hook them up.

First get your chat link: log in and go to Settings → Chat commands. It looks like https://irlmap.live/c/ch_xxxxxxxx. You add the command name at the end, like /location. In the examples below, swap YOUR_LINK for yours.

Everything below already uses your own chat link, so you can copy it straight into your bot. Each command is your link plus the command name, like /location.

Nightbot

Paste these into your chat as the streamer or a mod, one at a time. Only add the ones you want.

Create a command in the Fossabot dashboard for each one you want, with the matching response:

Your own bot

Do a GET on the link and post whatever comes back. It’s plain text, one line, short enough for chat.

All the commands

Add ?u=imperial at the end for mph, miles and °F, for example YOUR_LINK/speed?u=imperial.

Keep the link to yourself

Anyone with the link gets the same answers chat gets, so it isn’t secret data, but there’s no reason to post it. If it ends up somewhere it shouldn’t, rotate the chat key in Settings and update your commands.
